Ancelotti delighted with Eduardo Camavinga’s recent contribution

After a rough set of few weeks, Real Madrid were able to get a crucial 2-0 victory over Athletic Bilbao in order to keep the deficit to Barcelona at three points. The victory was a big relief for manager Carlo Ancelotti, who has been coming under pressure of late following poor results at the hands of Barcelona and Villarreal in multiple competitions since the return of the club football action. The 2-0 victory over Athletic Bilbao also completes a difficult set of away matches for the team.

The Los Blancos will be at home for the next three matches and it gives a great opportunity for Ancelotti to even try and overtake Barcelona in the table.

The former Chelsea manager was quite happy to see Toni Kroos and Karim Benzema, but the goals that provided this victory for Real Madrid. However, there are also plenty of excellent performances from the team. Ancelotti singled out the performance of Eduardo Camavinga in his postmatch interview. Even though Ancelotti was delighted with the way Benzema was able to get the goal, it was clear that the manager preferred Eduardo Camavinga’s contribution in the match. Even though Eduardo Camavinga has had a difficult campaign in terms of consistency, the French midfielder has certainly been coming up with good performances since the World Cup.

At this rate, it may be very difficult for Ancelotti to leave Eduardo Camavinga out of the action in the forthcoming weeks. Alongside the midfielder, Ancelotti also witnessed a strong performance from Thibaut Courtois. “He has returned with all his quality. It brings us a lot and we are very satisfied. Personally I also want to highlight Camavinga; spectacular game,” said Ancelotti after the win. Real Madrid now go up against Atletico Madrid in the Madrid derby in the upcoming match.
