Cristiano Ronaldo Pays Tribute to Zinedine Zidane’s Managerial Skills
Cristiano Ronaldo has paid tribute to the managerial skills of Zinedine Zidane, as the Frenchman is close to guiding Real Madrid to their first league title since the 2011-12 campaign.
The Spanish club have been going through a major doubt in terms of the domestic honours, despite lifting the Champions League twice in the last three years. Carlo Ancelotti was responsible for ending their long wait for success in this competition, and it helped with the 10th major honour in European Cup history. Zidane managed to take the club even further by helping them win the title last season, while he is on the course of becoming the first manager in Champions League history to retain the title.
At the same time, the lack of domestic honours was a major factor behind Carlo Ancelotti’s exit from the club. Zidane does not appear to be facing such an issue as of now, as he has been able to keep the club focused on the La Liga title too.
Madrid have been dominating the La Liga table throughout the campaign. Only on a few occasions did Barcelona seem to have a slender chance of winning the league. Now, Madrid will be able to claim the title by matching the result of Barcelona on the final day of the season.
"The boss has managed things very well this year. We have a very good squad with lots of good young players and others with experience.I have been rested a bit more this year in order to be in good shape at the end of the season. It has worked well as this is when things are decided. We still have one game to go. We know we have to keep going until the end. We are going to Malaga to win the game, that's always our objective,” said Ronaldo after the 4-1 win over Celta de Vigo.
