RONALDO SET FOR RETURN
Former and current Real Madrid managers José Mourinho and Carlo Ancelotti has said that star attacker Cristiano Ronaldo is unlikely to leave Real Madrid to Manchester United. There have been constant speculation linking Ronaldo with a return to Manchester United over the last 12 months after the star stated that he was unhappy at the Santiago Bernabeu.
Real Madrid president Florentino Perez has held several talks with Ronaldo over the last few months in an attempt to persuade him to stay at the Spanish capital. He appears to be winning the race after Mourinho and Ancelotti admitted that United have little chance of signing him.
The 28-year-old was brought to the Spanish capital for a world-record transfer fee of £ 80 million and it is estimated that it would take a similar amount of money for United to bring him back to Old Trafford. Mourinho, though, has said that he will definitely stay at Real Madrid even though he loves the Premier league and United a lot. The Portuguese manager has said that he is saying it after having held no talks with Ronaldo over this matter. Ancelotti, meanwhile, has stressed the importance of keeping a player like Ronaldo at the club.
The 28-year-old was once again at his imperious best in the pre-season friendly match against Bournemouth.
"I think Ronaldo is the most important player in this team because he is the player with the best quality. I think we will help him every time to do his best because if he does that every time we have a great opportunity for this season. His future is at Real Madrid, there is no question about this," said Ancelotti. "I know Ronaldo loves Man United and I know he loves the Premier League, but I think he is going to stay. It's just a feeling, no contact, nothing, just a feeling," said Mourinho.
