UEFA CHAMPIONS LEAGUE MATCH PREVIEW: ATALANTA VS REAL MADRID

Italian Serie A outfit Atalanta will be hosting Spanish La Liga giants Real Madrid in the first leg of their last-16 encounter in the UEFA Champions League and there's all to play for. Atalanta secured passage into the last-16 of the tournament after they finished their group stage campaign in second place behind group leaders Liverpool. Real Madrid, on the other hand, beat German Bundesliga outfit Borussia Monchengladbach to first place in their group stage.

Zinedine Zidane's Real Madrid are currently occupying the second position in the Spanish La Liga and are looking to make improvements upon their previous season at this stage of the competition in the last campaign. They were knocked out of the competition by Manchester City and they have made it clear they want to banish every of that memory.

The Spanish side however will be facing a tough test against a free-scoring Atalanta side who are well-known for their attacking prowess and prolificacy in front of goal. The home side are the favorites for this clash especially given that Madrid will be missing as many as 9 key players who are all out of the tie as a result of injuries.
